“Making Life Matter”, was legally established as a 501 © 3, nonprofit organization, in September 2024.


The purpose of “Making Life Matter”, is to serve the community by addressing mental health disparities in underrepresented communities.

Our Mission and Vision


Mission


Our mission is to normalize and destigmatize mental healthcare and mental wellness programs. We will normalize our platforms by promoting, raising awareness, advocating, screening and providing mental wellness programs to underrepresented and underserved communitites.


Vision


Our vision is to provide culturally-appropriate access to mental health care and mental wellness programs for minority and financially-challenged populations.

Current Mental Health Barriers

Poverty and Insurance

Cultural Stigma

high poverty rates and lack of healthcare coverage create significant obstacles to accesing mental health services.

Deep-rooted cultural beliefs and stigma prevent many from seeking help that they need.

Lack of Awareness


Many individuals are unaware of many mental health symptoms or may be unaware of the resources that provide appropriate care.

Limited Access Quality mental health services remain inaccessible to many unrepresented communites.

Offering direct mental health care services and connecting individuals to resources.

Provide emergency assistance and “Trauma-focused” care and resources to “natural disaster survivors".

COMMUNITY-CENTERED PROGRAMS


Mental Health Fairs

Host educational events that raise awareness, provide screenings and destigmatize mental health care.


Trauma-Based Services

Specialized support services for vulnerable populations including homeless youth, trafficking survivors and disaster victims.


COMMUNITY ALLIANCES

BUILD ALLIANCES WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS TO EXPAND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY.


MOBILE SCREENINGS

MOBILE OUTREACH PROGRAMS PROVIDING DIRECTSUPPORT TO UNDERSERVED AREAS.

Designed to provide instruction in “character” development, academic success, financial literacy, promotion of physical and mental wellness, building healthy relationships and spiritual development.

Provide instruction in social-skills, self-esteem building and life skills to help young people succeed in the classroom and beyond!

Provide individual psychotherapy and therapeutic groups to youth and teens in school settings.
